Steven started his career way back in Fashion and Textiles at Central St Martins in London where his first love for colour and texture developed but after graduating he quickly realised hair was the perfect material to work with. 

“To colour and manipulate when cutting and styling, changing the way hair looks and feels was very much like fabric to me... so that's when my love affair with hair began.”

He opened his first salon in Bournemouth in 2000 and quickly managed to gain an excellent reputation by being voted 'One of the top ten salons to visit in the south' by Cosmopolitan Magazine.

With London Fashion Week, The Clothes Show Live, The Big Breakfast, Ten Years Younger and being placed in the grand final of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy and so much more all under his belt.

“My reputation kind of went into overdrive from there and I was fortunate enough to be involved in many fashion shows and shoots including tending to the needs of a host of celebrity clients.

Steven’s work has been featured in major magazines such as Elle, Marie Claire,Hairdressers Journal, Wed Magazine,and a two front covers for dv8. And let’s not forget a seven page editorial for Vogue Magazine.

Now after eleven glorious years as the salon owner and front man of multiple award winning salon Steven & Laurent Hairdressers where Steven and his team managed to win the accolade of being one of North Devon’s successful and progressive salon.

Steven now fronts theHUB. working with a smaller highly trained and dedicated team whose philosophy is to provide all salon guests with individual attention and service of the highest standards.
